Late last year, most of the donors involved in projects “Children sponsorship” and “Dignified life” received a notice of administrative changes. We used these changes to re-visitations of Ukrainian families in which were verified the social desirability of children and seniors participating in these projects. Concluding new contracts are linked primarily to confirm the permanent need of the child or senior throughout Ukrainian coordinators. This whole procedure took more time than we eccepted in the beginning and still is not all Ukrainian villages completed!

Haiti was plagued by earthquake on 12th January 2010. Land shakes seriously destroyed its capital Port au Prince, according to the estimates has died around 200 thousand people and nearly 3 millions people have irrecoverably lost their own living. Caritas of Ostrava also joined other organizations providing humanitarian help in Haiti. By means of Archdiocesan Caritas Olomouc, which has been realizing their own humanitarian project, announced for Haiti’s help public collection and opened collection account number: 35-1868350237/0100, Commercial bank, VS 999999.
Almost half a year passed after the flood in June 2009, but still it does not mean that this chapter is done, how for people who helped to other people during the flood so for people affected by the flood. Diocesan Caritas of Ostrava – Opava prepared to people to whom were the help provided very nice Christmas gifts. The Christmas is the time full of hopefuls, happiness and peace. A trip from Ostrava to Ukraine was organized by the three workers from Common-life village organization. Two of us already organized this trip last year, so we had some experience. The coordinator sent us to Ust-Čorne, but at the end of our trip we stayed in Tjaciv (western part of Ukraine).
Humanitarian Aid Center of Diocesan Caritas Ostravsko-Opavska started a new project called HOME at the end of the summer holiday. General objective and vision of this project is to help Ukraine’s children from the incomplete and social disadvantaged families, help them to achieve better life style, provision of the basic life needs and gain appropriate education.
One’s pleasant July morning we met each other in Diocesan Caritas of Ostrava. From this place we sallied out into the most destroyed village afterwards. Suddenly we had a file from the residents of Jesenik nad Odrou (Czech Republic). People, to whom have changed the life during a few hours. People who have lost many things, sometimes everything. People, who were fighting for the bare livelihood…
The traditional daily camp in two tours for children was organized during the summer holiday in cooperation with young Silesians from Slovakia in the parish of Tjaciv region. Many children from the children sponsorship project participated on this camp as well. During these two weeks children from Zolotareve, Hanyčách, Ust Corne, Lopuchové, Nemeckej a Ruskej Mokrej, Solotvine, Teresve, Lozianskom, Tjacive a Ruskom Poli could spend the holiday time interestingly, nicely and highly-targeted, thanks to the well-considered and multifarious every day program, which were really precisely prepared by the organizers.
